silverfast does not work on Nikon Coolscan V ED

Hallo,

I just purchased and downloaded the latest silverfast AI STudio 6.5.x version for my Nikon Coolscan V ED on Windows XP.
Nikonscan and v**s**n are installed and working.

Silverfast starts but

- if I switch to positive scans it crashed instantly
- if I scan negative it starts focusing, film strip is moving in, but when silverfast starts prescan, the film strip is not moving anymore. The sprescan is (as expected :-) black. After prescanning the programm mostly crashes.

Has anybody an idea what I can do?

I am sorry to learn about your misfortune; especially as I yet fail to understand why (e.g. in case of driver incompatibilities) Nikonscan would work while SilverFast doesn't.
