Re: Silverfast 8 / Nikon SF210 Feeders
The failure to develop this aspect of version 8 is tantamount to fraud. I would never have upgraded if I had known that this facility would be so long in coming. There was no mention in the publicity of the much-vaunted new version 8 that some aspects would be late (never?) coming. You said way back in November that it would be "Soon". What is soon in your perspective? I am tired of rebooting my computer to another set-up so I can use the SF210 with your old programme.

SF-210 not working
Version 8 software, just started using it with LS 5000. It will only single scan with the SF-210 bulk loader though this is said to be supported.
Is there a different driver or something that would allow this to work?

Yes, need this implemented ASAP. Coming from v**s**n, I was stunned to find out that it didn't work.

Dear David,
Dear SilverFast Nikon users
We are working on the implementation of the slide feeders SF-210 and SF-200. We offer all of you apologies for the long waiting time, the implementation of these feeders has proved problematic but we are on the verge of overcoming some technical difficulties.
We appreciate your understanding and patience and again apologize for the inconvenience.
Kind regards

Re: Silverfast 8 / Nikon SF210 Feeders
You expect our understanding? I don't understand! I don't understand why this problem could not be sorted before you hyped the new version.
You were too anxious to get more publicity for a new version, and the income associated with that upgrade, not cheap by any standards, than to make sure that your 'faithful" customers were kept happy. It is clear from the number of contributions to this line that many are NOT happy.
What do you suggest doing, apart from getting the service for the SF210 working, to earn our confidence again?

Alejandro,
The SF 210 is not yet supported on Windows with the new release? If so, how do I activate this feature? If not, when????

Hi David
It has been supported for some days now. Support for this feeder was problematic only under Mac.
Cheers

Alejandro,
Then please tell me how to activate the bulk feeder....the scanner only feeds one slide, don't see any difference or setting in interface for the bulk feed.

Hi David
Easy, click and hold the scan button, a drop down menu appears from where you can choose an "ADF-scan" option.
This will tell SilverFast to scann all slides within the slide holder in a batch. It has to be the last step after choosing your resolution and the path where pictures are to be saved.
Cheers

Re: Silverfast 8 / Nikon SF210 Feeders
I'm having trouble locating the "eject" button in the software. I'm trying to load the first slide from the SF-210 so I can do a pre-scan etc. What do I do to load the first slide? On the previous version, I would press the eject button. Thanks!

Found it! I removed and re-inserted the SF-210 and the eject button appeared!

Re: Silverfast 8 / Nikon SF210 Feeders
When doing a batch scan, all processing completes before the scanner loads the next slide and starts a scan. It would be much faster if once the scan of slide 1 is finished, the scan of slide 2 is started. The processing for slide 1 can continue while slide 2 is scanning. Is this planned?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi dickkaiser
No, it is not planned. I have opened a feature request with your suggestion. Thanks for your contribution.
