I have a Nikon LS2000 coolscan + Silverfast 4 + Photoshop 5.5 which has been running happily on Windows 98 for 2 years.
Problem is we need a new computer and the only OS available is Windows XP.
Will the scanner / Silverfast / Photoshop comb work on the new system ? or am I looking at expensive updates ?
thanks in advance
Martin

Upgrade to SilverFast Ai 5.5 for nikon LS2000 from SilverFast Ai 4
We have been investing substantially into the development to bring SilverFast Ai 4 to version 5 and 5.5 and to work with Windows XP and also Photoshop 7. You will also be able to use SilverFast as Stand-a-lone version. Yet we are charging only a moderate upgrade price:
Upgrade from previous versions (not SE) in Euro
Upgrade: 146.00
Upgrade with IT8 calibration: 273.00
https://www.silverfast.com/pricing/193/en.html
Just remember, SilverFast Ai has a unique value compared to other professional packages as LinoColor (which was a 5000$ value) and other high-end scan software packages.
Read the highlights of SilverFast 5.5 especially for Nikon-Scanners:

Also read about the unique capabilities of HiRepp (opening a 500 MB Raw data file in only 1 second) and Raw Data (48bit) output processing that you get with SilverFast Ai 5.5 which includes SilverFast HDR:

Thanks for the reply
I have read that I should be able to get the LS2000 scanner working with Windows XP, but only by upgrading the drivers for my SCSI card (Adaptec 2904) to include a Windows XP ASPI(?) layer, and by installing Nikon's latest version of Nikonscan (3.1.2) to get the appropriate drivers.
I'm still not clear whether the version I have of Silverfast (4) will work with
Windows XP, can anybody advise ?
Has anyone else gone through this process with the LS2000 that can verify that it is possible?
Many thanks
Martin

Finally, Adaptec gave in to demand, and since May 2002, ASPI layer for Win 98, 2K, XP, others, is available for downloading at
