Silver fast Ai 6 will not recognize Nikon LS5000

My copy came bundled with another scanner and works well with that machine. As I understand it however the software should work with the Nikon scanner as well. The Nikon scanner is correctly installed and works with other programs but Silverfast will not see this scanner when it is connected, thanks in advance,

Dear Bill,

SilverFast is designed by modules that work for a very specific scanner model, even scanners which are the same brand might have different SilverFast modules.
As you explained in your message your "copy came bundled with another scannner and works well with that machine".

Please download and test the demo version of SilverFast for your scanner model to see if that module recognizes the scanner.

I do have the LS-9000 and I use Silverfast 6 for scanning. The Scanner is connected to the computer via a FirewIRE CABLE , not USB.
When the computer is on, and the LS-9000 is switched on, Silverfast does not recognize the scanner. I have to reboot my PC, by leaving the scanner on
Only then, Silverfast is able to recognize the scanner.

1. Switch on the scanner
2. Switch on the PC

That's the way I do it.
