Hi,
I have scanned with SF 8 to compare to Silverfast 6.
First is the SF 8 trial version as I haven't upgraded yet as I try out first. Positive scan came out really good and is better than SF 6 but however when I scan negative it was totally different story.
SF 8 with same setting except make shadow darker and make highlight brighter 30. There is still no difference if I slide those both darker and lighter to 0.
Highlight is terribly blown-out!
For SF 6 all setting are same as 8 but except does not have make shadow darker and make highlight brighter option.
Now this is very strange, what is the causes of that?
In SF 8 it has no option to turn on scanner hardware auto exposure on. In SF 6 it does have that.
Nathan.

Dear Nathan,
Have you checked if the highlights and shadows are set correctly?
Have you tried different values for the tolerance slider?
Kind regards,
Arne
