Hi again,

Has any other than me experienced, that the scanned image is a little different to the preview frame? I did a couple of positive slides with my LS30, and the preview frame was set very tight to the black dia frame. After scanning, i got a small stripe of the dia frame in the picture, allways on the lower side of the scanned picture! It looks as if the preview frame doesn?t match 100% the final scan. This mismatch was reproduceable multiple times, any idea about this problem?
System is Mac with PS 6.0 and Silverfast 5.5.1r08 and a Nikon LS30/coolscanIII.

regards
Wolfgang

Dear Wolfgang,
I hope you meet the "Nikon Maid conditions" these are:
- LS2000/LS30 must have firmware 1.31
- When NikonScan is installed alongside, must be ver. 2.51 or 3.1 not any older NikonScan version.
- make sure you install SilverFast AFTER NikonScan.

And as you are using SF ver 5.5.1r08, you are entitled to a free update to ver. 5.5.2

Thank you for aswering my request!
I had a look at my SW and HW revisions and found out, that the Firmware is actually 1.31 but the NikonScan version is 2.1. Since i never had this problem with SilverFast 4.x, is it from the SF 5.5 version or better do i need the NikonScan program at all?
In other words, would it be better to remove the NikonScan SW and install SilverFast only?

once again thanks
Wolfgang

with the LSIII and SilverFast 5.5 it is not necessary to install NikonScan SW.
