When might Silverfast know if there are any compatability issues between the current version of Ai (6.1r5) for the CS4000 and NikonScan4.x libraries? The new version is scheduled for release on the European support site in a week or so and it supports the CS4000. i do not want to return to the earlier library interaction problems that we had.
Thanks,
Frank

NikonScan 4 libraries ?
Dear degrub.
A few users have already reported compatibility problems with NikonScan V4 and Silverfast.
We will have tested and if necessary provided a solution by the end of next week.
Kind regards.

I have not experienced any software-related compatibility problems. However, and for the worse, the incompatibility problem with NikonScan 4 shows up when scanning negatives.
After much testing, both with NikonScan4 and NikonScan 3.1.2 (and the other two versions of Silverfast I am using, HDR+other scanner), it is now clear that Silverfast (v6.1.0r7) works fine in companion with the older NikonScan-version. However, if one chooses to remove NikonScan, or install the newest NikonScan version, all the negative scans turn very magenta/reddish and bright (not lovely at all).
Conclusion: To get the colors right when scanning negatives in Silverfast (using Negafix), it is imperative to have NikonScan 3.1.2 installed in the background. The reason why? Well, that I would like to know too?
