Nikon have finally released their Nikon Scan 3.1.3 software which supports the LS 4000, and LS 8000 Scanners under Mac OSX.
This means we have a fighting chance of having a Silverfast version in the forseeable future. This is great news!

Regards,

Simon

SilverFast OS-X and Nikon LS40, LS4000, LS8000

We are waiting to get the required resources from Nikon to adapt SilverFast Nikon to OS-X. We should get those resources within the next 14 days and can start working on the adaptation.

I have tried the Nikon driver, and it is horrifically slow when using the multisampling feature. I hope your plug-in will do better, as it did in OS 9.

Hi
I have been trying to install and run the software for the last four hours with no success.
There are different language versions, neither of them worked on either systems (english-german)
Nikon Scan 3.1.3 quits within the first second.
(G4 OS 10.1.4 - LS4000 ED)
Any ideas anyone?

Thanks

I had (have) the same problem on my Dutch/English system. I use two accounts, one with and one without administrator rights. While I do have your problem when I run on the account without administrator rights, running Nikon Scan 3.1.3 on my administrator account is without problems.

I hope this works for others as well.

Erik
