I recently received Silverfast Ai 5.5 with a Nikon 4000ED. I installed it, then upgraded to the latest version from the web site, but when I tried to calibrate the scanner I found that the IT8 calibration button is missing from the Silverfast menu.

This can't be correct, can it? The programme appears to be the full version according to the documentation & the splash & info screens. So what's going on? And how do I get the calibration facility back?

Full version but no IT8 calibration

The full version of SilverFast Ai does not always have IT8 calibration integrated. IT8 calibration is an additional feature, which has to be purchased.

'Does not always have IT8 calibration integrated?' Does that mean if you're lucky it's included?

As the president says, IT8 calibration is an additinal feature, which has to be purchased.

However, some scanner manufacturer bundle SilverFast with IT8 calibration with their scanner.
