I've bougth Silverfast 5.5 for my LS8000,
after installation, reboot, the system reports Scanner error code zero (0), during a single scan of a 35mm negative. The auto exposure and focusing are working, during scanning the progress window shows a mess instead of the picture. After this photoshop crashes. With nikonscan 3.1 there are no problems. Is there a pdf available that clarifies the error codes that the system returns ? I could not find anything on the CD. In the Nikonscan 3.1 software it is possible to switch between superfine and normal scanning mode on the LS8000. Is this possible in silverfast 5.5AI ? What is the default mode Silverfast uses?
The purpose of this function is to eliminate the "banding problem" on high-res medium format scans.

By the way Silverfast is much faster in scanning as nikonscan !!!

I had bad problems with scanner error 0 until very recently when I installed the latest version of 5.5. Now, these problems occur only very rarely anymore.

--Dear Anonymous,
the default with SilverFast is NOT the super fine scan mode. You can switch to this mode in SilverFast: Option > Special.
