LS4000 Firmware Update 1.1 WInXP

Hi,

Just came across the Nikon site and found that there is a firmware update 1.1 for the LS4000 on WinXP.

I tried to install it but it asked for NikonScan 3. Should I then first install NikonScan 3 and the run the update? Is there no danger for conflicting with Silverfast 6.02r33 which is already installed and running well on my WinXP platform and Photoshop 7.01?

Please help me what to do, I would very much appreciate it!

The Nikon site lists the update to fix a problem with MAC systems. You should not need it for Windows based systems, best i can tell.

But why is there also a windows update then?

i can only guess. Originally there was only the Mac updater for about a month.

1) so we can update the scanner from a windows box and use it on a Mac

2) so we can go crazy trying to figure out why ( somewhat like some of the NikonScan software behaviors - at least they are consistent
