LS4000-ED crashes under non-Admin account on Mac OS X 10.2

Postby hamiltonmpc » Fri Apr 23, 2004 2:24 pm

Greetings.
I am the assistant to the administrator for the computer lab of a small college. We are currently having a problem with a Nikon LS4000-ED film scanner. It works just fine under the Administrator account; however, under the regular account, it exhibits the following symptoms:
* It recognizes the scanner fine, and gets into the Silverfast controls from Photoshop.
* When I click Prescan, it focuses, then measures the exposure
* As soon as it finishes that, it crashes, quitting itself and Photoshop with no error message.

We have tried changing the permissions on the Silverfast plugin itself and the /Library/Application Support/Nikon folder, and we've even tried giving the plugin setuid privileges to Admin. It still crashes in exactly the same way.

Any help or advice on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Mr. Collet,

please tell us which version your OS is (the complete version number) and which photoshop are you running now ?

And I am interested if the user account has full rights to the photoshop/plug-ins/import-export folder ?

kind regards
