IT8 Profiling question

Postby hassiman » Sun Aug 23, 2009 8:18 am

With a Nikon 9000 which uses an LED source that does not change much over time how often does one need to re-run the IT8 profiling process?

Would it be accurate to assume that if one needed to re-install the SF software but had the IT8 (say Kodachrome) .ICC file then the re-installed software would still be accurately profiled if referencing that same .icc file as long as the scanner had not been switched?

Dear hassiman,
yes, that would be safe to assume !
For LED and even for cold cathod lamps its okay to re-calibrate only twice a year, normally things won't change noticably, so its most likely more a "check" then really getting new data...
