SilverFast 5 for Nikon LS-2000 as a Twain driver with Photoshop 5.02 under Win2KPro.

I've got a film strip inside my scanner. How do I get it out? I can do it in the NikonScan software, primitive as it may be. I am almost willing to bet money that the SilverFast manual doesn't describe any button for this purpose buried in some dialog box for doing this. However, I've already spent way too much money on this wretched software.
Ciao,

I assume the negative is inserted into the motorised SA-20 film strip holder. If so there should be a little button on the left hand margin of the preview window - it looks like a film tail and should be just below the button that looks like lens bellow - it ONLY appears if the SA-20 was inserted into the scanner BEFORE SilverFast was started.

BTW; you seem to have a lot of questions on scanning negs, batch, etc. read the "Ian Lyons's Tutorials" referred to on this sites front page. Everything you have asked is covered - including what all the buttons do!

Thanks for that pointer. There are several buttons in the Preview window which are mentioned nowhere in the SilverFast documentation. It's irritating that after paying several hundred bucks for a mere twain driver (more than I paid for hundreds of megabytes of MS Office) that I have to read someone else's tutorial on the web in order to find out how to work it.

No Clue which button does what?

Most of the buttons are explained in the SilverFast pdfs. Also there is a Quick Reference Card PDF for download.

Help function for buttons

If you move the mouse over a button, you'll see a brief explanation of what this button does at the very bottom of the preview windows!

SilverFast a mere TWAIN driver? Wrong!

First of all SilverFast is not a driver! A driver does not do much o you have to fix images in Photoshop. SilverFast is a full featured application with over 150 imaging functions coming as a Photoshop- and as a TWAIN plug-in.
