Has the new Nikon update solved the bugs?

All the problems with Nikon film scanners

Are you now satisfied with Silverfast's performance with the Nikon 8000?

Do you find it to provide better results than v**s**n?

Has the new Nikon update solved the bugs?

Postby mjblack » Tue Jul 15, 2003 11:03 pm

I have recently purchased a Nikon 8000ED medium format scanner and am quite unhappy with Nikon's software. I have been researching Silverfast and its competitor and have seen wildly opposing opinions online. Some can not live without the new SF while others claim that faults in it prevent them from getting acceptable results from it.

I noticed that there has recently been a new Nikon update posted. Since the many posts detailing bugs in Silverfast's interaction with the Nikons and 8000ED in particular are now months old - How about some up to date feedback?

Has the new update addressed your concerns? MF image cropping, IT8 & profile innacuracy, ICE bugs, ect?

Thanks!
Michael J. Black
