I am having a problem here with my nikon 8000 and silverfast ai6.1.0r4(NikonM) running on XP. i am mainly scanning negetives. Everthing is working fine and I am getting exelent colors and tones. and then after a couple of scans without changing anything i get an errormessage: error at scan start, can not set autoexposur. the only thing to cure this problem is either to turn of Auto Exposure(wich i of course do not want to
do) or completly uninsall and reinstall silverfast, wich of course is a
huge hold up.
I am running the latest update of ai6, but I had the same problem with all the former versions of ai6 too.
So, what is ther to do to fix this problem more satisfactory?

hello.
I checked this with my LS 8000 and WinXP and could not verify. Could you please send us your SF_logfile to support@silverfast.com.
Best regards.

error at scan start
Yes i too have been getting this message "error at scan start, cannot measure ...." now after scanning for the last month with no problems. Also I can't get the negs to perfectly line up as well as they did when I got the 8000 1 month ago. I am all up to date with Ai.
What's up?!?
