Error after 2nd installation

I installed SF SE 6 for my Nikon CoolscanIV (USB) in Photoshop 4 (Import Plugin) MacOS 9.1. SilverFast SE run fluently but showed no icons of the different applications. So I installed SF SE a 2nd time on Photoshop 5 LE. Running SF on Photoshop 5 LE, always an error message appeared like "Unknown error with MAID driver. Name of the error ICENKNX2". And after clicking ok another error message told me "No scanner found".
What is wrong with the installation?

Dear Kalle -
There is some confusion on your Mac. To solve the problem first: remove the Photoshop 5 LE version from the disk and second: look at the FAQ . You will find the answer at: FAQ - Funktionality related Problems - SilverFast main control - Main Buttons - Main Buttons in general :

Problem: empty buttons/empty icons in SFv5 Photoshop plugin on Mac . Conditions: SilverFast 5 uses the apple appearence manager to display its interface. The apple appearence manager must be activated (check in Control Panel > "Extension Manager")

Workaround:
this appearance problem can be overcome by moving certain plugins - that are not fully compatible with Mac OS 8.x or higher - out of their location!
Please check if you can find the "Kodak CMS Photo CD" plugin in:
...Adobe Photoshop 5 > Plugins > Import/Export
...Adobe Photoshop 4 > Plugins > file formats
Please delete (or move to another place) this "Kodak CMS Photo CD" plugin module.
If problem not solved:
appart from that Kodak PhotoCD-plugin, it could also be any other non-OS8.x-compatible plugin. If removal of that "Kodak CMS Photo CD" plugin doesn't solve the problem, try removing other 3rd party plugins out of their resident folder, and check SilverFast again.
