Dark and magenta pre scans

Postby Lorne » Wed Mar 12, 2003 4:53 am

I have searched the forums quite a bit and haven?t really seen a solution to my problem. My apologies if I missed it and this is a solved issue.

I have been using Silverfast for years and all of a sudden My prescan is very very dark (far darker than the slide). Any ideas on what it might be?

The pre scan (& scan) is also very Magenta.

(The pre scan & Photoshop file match exactly).

Settings:

Gamma-Gradation 2.2
Q-factor 1.0

Auto Threshold Highlights 2
Auto Threshold Shadow 0
Highlight offset 2
Sahdow offset 98
color cast removal 100
Auto contrast unchecked
Automatci when ADF unchecked
MidPip Fixed target 50 active unchecked

CMS:

none
Automatic
RGB

None
Adobe RGB 1998
none
none
perceptual

profile to embed: Adobe RGB 1998

Special:
color filter white
Prescan draft checked
all others unchecked

One note: under Scanner (transparent) the only options I have are none or NKLS2000_8N.icm. I have other profiles in the same folder as this icm profile but this is the only one that shows up in the drop down box.

Hope you can help.

Cause you don't use any CMS with the scanner, this could be the misscalibration of the scanner. If the HDR mode scan looks nearly the same (HDR is very dark, if the gamma in HDR checkbox is deactivated) mangenta, then the scanner make mangenta pictures.
