Computer Cannot Find Silverfast 8/Nikon 4000 ED

Hello-

Hoping someone can help. I just paid for the upgrade to Silverfast 8 for my Epson 4990 and Nikon 4000 ED scanners. The Epson show up in the launcher, but the Nikon does not. I've tried re-installing several times (which it says I've done "successfully"), but the Nikon does not show up anywhere. I tried several Firewire cables, but those didn't fix the issue.

I'm running:

Mac OX 10.9.1
3.89 GHz Intel Core
32 GB memory

Dear customer,

please make sure you install both versions using the latest updates from our websites.
Each scanner has it's own installer and requires the newest version to run.
You can reset the download area below the download list to enter data for another scanner.
