I have a Nikon LS 50 scanner and I?m running Windows XP.
I use SilverFast Ai 6 Studio 6.4.4r6 (twain) and Photoshop Elements 2.
I have done an IT-8 calibration and created an ICC profile.
When I have done that and have a look at the CMS panel I have
the following:
Color Management
Input -> Internal ICM
Internal -> Monitor <NONE>
Internal -> Output <RGB>
Profiles for ICM
Input SF_T(Nikon LS-50)
Internal Adobe RGB (1998)
Gray <NONE>
Rendering intent Perceptual
Embedded ICC profile
Embeded ICC profile /
Profile to embed Adobe RGB (1998)
Plug & Play CMYK No CMYK
The internal -> Monitor is showing <NONE>. I can change that to ICM,
but not to Automatic. I have read that it should be set to Automatic!
The Internal -> Output is showing <RGB>. Is that the same as RGB?

Gustav
Color Management and IT-8 Calibration
Dear Gustav
please note that TWAIN offers only limited colour management support.
Often the TWAIN host app isn't able to fulfill all needs for a complete CMS.
Changing "Internal>Monitor" would SilverFast let make use of the ICC monitor profile you delevoped with a third party software (such as available from x-rite or gretag macbeth).
Automatic is only available if SilverFast is started as a Photoshop plug-in and from Photoshop. It means that SilverFast will read the PS settings and use them.
"Internal>Output" = RGB means an RGB output (be it a file or to the printer) will be created.
Best regards
