Batch Scanning 35mm slides in SF8

Postby dws19 » Fri Feb 01, 2013 4:53 pm

Greetings,

I have a Nikon SuperCoolscan 5000ED with the SF-210 attachment for batch scanning of 35mm slides.
I am running Ai Studio 8 (Version 8.0.1r19) on a Mac that is running 10.7.4

I am having problems figuring out where to go within the application to do a batch scan using this equipment.

In the past, my workflow was to simply to set the scanning area, indicate the number of slides to be scanned, select the output size and resolution, scan with dust and scratch removal, choose a destination folder, provide a name for the set of images, hit the scan button and walk away.

I just purchased this software with the hopes of being able to do the same. However, I am not finding the way to do this. The documentation that I have found so far has not been helpful, since it mainly refers back to V6.6.

Please advise.

Thank you.

The batch scanning instructions seem to bear no relation to my version of Silverfast 8.

- I can find no ADF settings in the Preferences section.
- I see no ADF control buttons in the vertical toolbar.

Do I have the right software for Nikon CoolScan 5000ED and SF-210 autofeed?

is the SF-210 correctly shown in the top-bar of SilverFast next to the scanner model?
The options are only present if the adapter is correctly inserted.

The Overview button is not used for this adapter as it can only transport images in one direction.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

I am having difficulty seeing how to use the 210 slide feeder with the Nikon 5000ED. The web page referred to in a previous reply to this post does not exist. The header of Silverfast says Silverfish 8.8 Nikon 5000LS Feeder, so I assume the software is seeing the 210. This is a Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. I need basic direction on how to scan multiple slides with the feeder. Can't find them anywhere!

'Dear customer,

You can set the image auto adjustment to be used in the Preferences' Auto tab and the maximum number of slides in the Special tab.
Other then that SilverFast will use the settings currently active for the frame. For example iSRD and ME only have to be activated for the current frame to be used for all images in the batch.
The batch scan can be started either from the Image menu or by clicking and holding the Scan button for a second.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
