Autofocus with Prescan and RGB-Scan makes scanning slow

Postby MHa » Wed Jan 22, 2003 10:00 pm

I use Silverfast SE 6.0.1.r36 with my Coolscan III LS-30
Using ScanPilot I do the following steps:

Prescan - several steps to optimize the picture - RGB-scan

With both, the prescan and the main RGB-scan Silverfast does an own autofocus- and a density-scan. This needs a little amount of time and I would like to know, if there is an option to deactivate it for the RGB-Scan like in NikonScan 3.x-options.
I think it's not neccessary to do it twice, because no changes are made to the Slide between pre- and RGB-scan! If it needs only 15 sec's and I have to scan >1000 Slides I've to wait hours for nothing...

best regards
Michael

Nikon LS30 and deactivating auto-focus for scan

Nikon LS30 and deactivating auto-focus for scan

Once you have done a prescan with focus activated, you can then deactivate the focus by clicking on the focus icon until it becomes gey and then click "Scan" to initiate the scan with out extra focus, since the focus will not be changed from its last position (from the prescan).
