anyone seen image shift with LS4000

Postby brice777 » Tue Nov 05, 2002 10:28 am

hi, i'm having a problem with my ls4000. the images (see attachments) i scan in while the LS4000 is on it's side (lying horizontal) are all distorted in the last 1/8 of the frame. the image shifts as through it was being stretched downwards .

i brought the unit in for servicing, but nikon told me there was nothing wrong with it. they were using Nikon Scanning software. has anyone seen or heard of this problem before?

i should note that i'm using silver fast, and just upgraded to SilverFast6ai yesterday - BUT this problem occurred under SF5.5 but was fine with nikon scan software!

Hope to hear from you soonest

i can e-mail you an example image

thanks! :o [/img]

with both the sf-200 and the normal slide adapter. only when the unit it horizontal does this occur - with an adapter... can e-mail a sample...

Does it do this when you use NS ?
How about v**s**n ? (download a demo version if you don't have it -
www.hamrick.com). How about on film
strips ? Twain or PS version SF ? Take a look at the pixels in the direction of stretch. Are the adjacent pixels identical(sets of repeating pixels)?

Did you contact our support team by filling the "problem report" page?

http://www.silverfast.com/problemreport/en.html

They will help you solving the problem (or, if there is a bug, it will help the developers fixing it).

Regards,

Thomas
