Postby Gregory C » Thu Apr 26, 2007 9:15 am

is 4x ME available on the 4000ED?

I've clicked the ME button but can only get Off and 2x.

regards,
Gregory

Dear all,
this is due to 2 facts:

-1- Scientific measurements show that there is a typical difference of only 0,02 in density between 2xMEX and 4xMEX scans which hardly justifies the higher scan time.

-2- MEX is much more likely to fail in 4x mode compared to 2x mode.

For some scanners ther *will be* a new MEX mode that really boosts Density another big step however that will only be available for some models, we do not have a complete list right now as development & testing is in the beginning right now...
