I am very impressed with this version of Silverfast and my Epson V700, it is producing for me good fast scans and I have over ten thousand pre 1950's negatives to do, hobby not work.
Three things annoy me however, I can't save my settings, the image type button reverts to tiff every time I close down and restart and finally, I have two monitors and I like to have my menus on one and the images on the other but they all dock when closing down, maybe in the future it would be nice to have these things, plus I cannot afford to but Ai version, otherwise very pleased.
Silverfast SE 8 cannot do things.

I can't believe that you missed out the feature for saving settings in this release. It's killing me having to do this every time I start up software. Please being it in soon.
Also annoying is fact that I can't use automatic workflow with Batch processing. Or can I?
Final one for now is when in batch processing mode having to go to each frame in order to set the image type in my case to jpg.
Otherwise it's looking good compared to v6 which I've just come off.

We did not missed out a "save settings" feature. It is included in the biggest version SilverFast Ai Studio. In SilverFast SE and SE Plus you have the option of transferring your settings from one frame to all other frames. It is important to do this in an orderly fashion.
Draw your scanning frames, with the first frame selected set the scan resolution and file type (jpeg in your case), choose the path where the files will be written, assign a name for these and finally click the "frame" button. From the drop down menu choose the option "Copy settings to all frames".
Frame settings will be transmitted to all frames, the chosen name will be assigned to all pictures accompanied by a number in brackets.

WorkflowPilot was conceived to help beginners understand the scanning steps with single images, once these are mastered, they can switch to manual mode.
