Hello everyone ...am new to the forum, I hope that the section is the right one (though any suggestions would be appreciated).
For a couple of months I've been using regularly the '' Archive Suite "to process about 5000 slides.
The process involves:
1) acquisition of the slides (in batches of 100 or multiple format output HDRi TIF) through a "Reflecta DigitDia 6000" scanner and SilverFast software; the name of the file is typically "Dia yy-mm nnnn" with year and month set (if known) and the progressive set by the automatic scanning process;
2) analysis of the images acquired with various tools and allocating to each of a filename most significant (location, date, the main subject ...);
3) treatment of the images with HDR Studio for removal of defects and the generation of images ready to be used for visualization or (with different characteristics) for printing.
My problem (and therefore this request), arise from the fact that when adding images to the HDR "Job Manager" this uses as "image name" the internal tag in the TIF (identical to the name given at the time of 'acquisition) instead of using the external name of the file, changed to better identify the image.
This forces me to re-edit by hand the name, for each image of the job, and this is a very boring activity and source of errors.
A "shot" better than one thousand words:
My questions are:
- Can I change this behavior via a preference (I searched it ... but without success)?
- Is there any alternative work-around?
- If none of the preceding is applicable ... you may consider adding this option in a future release?
Thanks for the attention
My best regards
Alessandro Becchetti

Re: Silverfast HDR image naming ...
Dear Mr Becchetti,
That is correct.
The HRD(i) files are meant to be edited in SilverFast HDR Studio.
Editing them in external software is not anticipated and can even damage them.
Currently our workflow requires the use of the metadata and there unfortunately is no workaround.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
