Any plans to introduce the possibility of saving one's scanner settings? It would be very handy. Also, it would be useful to be able, while adjusting settings via the histogram, to toggle between channels with the keyboard as in Photoshop (i.e., command-1, 2, 3, etc. for RGB/composite).
And while we're on the subject, is there a reason why the midtone slider in Histogram is measured from -20 to 20 instead of 1.00 (plus or minus, e.g. 1.35 or 0.60) as in Photoshop? It's arbitrary of course, but most of us are used to thinking in terms of the values of Photoshop histogram.

Dear Allen
SilverFast settings can be saved in SilverFast Ai (not SE, sorry) already:
> main dialogue > frame tab > settings drop-down-list option.
The -20 to 20 range for the midtone slider is differently in algorithm and effect from Photoshop. Therefore I feel it wouldn't be right to suggest users to think they're doing the "same as in PS" with using the same notation.

re settings (histogram, etc., saving settings)
Dear Sonny, Thanks for the reply. Too bad for me I only have the SE. I'd still like to see the toggling capability; don't know if you can do that with Ai. best regards, Allen

I see this as horrible in terms of software ergonomics, quite often I want to sceram when I am confronted with this. Especially on the "frame" tab, where the "save" drop-down control is buried as the third of four controls (or is it fourth out of five?).
Why not have a separate button for saving the current settings?
A drop-down control is really a strange way to realize this.

L.W.
Dear Mr Willms
thanks for your inspiration. Although I have to admit that I am myself not comfortable with actions stored in a GUI selection dropdown item, I also need to point out that in doing the interface is less cluttered than if we'd give it a further button.
Also, users familiar with SilverFast have found similar solution approaches overall in SF going back quite some time now. So it is hard to change something without reducing productivity, even if your change actually was thought to improve it.
However, we are in pre-alpha stage to create a new GUI from the scratch, so thanks for your hint which might well be considered
Have a brilliant weekend!
Best regards
