We dont see support for this scanner line anywhere on the silverfast site.
Are there any plans to support the SCANVIEW scanners, the drums & the flat-bed units?
regards
dw

Dear bwchrome
Dear ScanView users,
At the present we do not support any ScanView scanners. For different internal reasons, the support for these scanners is not planned for the near future.
However it does not necessarily mean that they will not be supported in future versions of SilverFast.
We appreciate your understanding and patience.
Best regards

Hi there,
I'd like to refresh this topic after some years and ask if there is any possibility that You will support any ScanView scanners (drum or flatbed) in future?
Kind regards,
Przemek

Re: SCANVIEW
Hi there,
The situation has not really changed much. To be able to implement the scanner there is a set of requirements needed. At least one scanner model is continually required (which we do not have) for the implementation and test stages . Maintenance of such a device would probably be a big issue. The amount of these devices in the market is very reduced and the resources invested to make such an implementation would probably make the end product price prohibitively expensive. The outdated technology of the scanner can most likely be a big source of trouble with current technology which might directly translate into support resources and costs.
I personally do not believe this will be different in the future.
Kind regards

Re: SCANVIEW
I understand, thank You for a reply.
In case You would change Your mind and even consider to give it a try, there are some new "in box" condition Scanmete scanners available for cheap in a storage in Denmark. Two guys that have been working on developing scanners for Scanview still have some of them and still offer a support.

Re: SCANVIEW
By the way I think there is a very good reason for every user of ScanView scanners to purchase a new software if available and this reason is maximum size limit for a file that can be scanned using a software that came with ScanView scanners (Color Quartet). This is a big limitation of the possibilities of ScanMate scanners. For example a ScanMate 11000 is capable of recording over 4 GB of data from a 6x7 medium format transparency while this limitation will allow to save less then a half of it. If we move up to the large format this limitation is much more painful because we are unable to use more then a half of resolution of this scanner using available software. That is why I think that anyone who would present a solution even only for this problem will gain a solid number of consumers.

Re: SCANVIEW
I'd also raised this question several years ago and I'd also like to see it raised again now... I mean they're a great, small scanner. I'm sure in a modern, connected world a solution to beta test could be found.
Fingers crossed... but I won't hold my breath.

I'm the owner of fully working ScanMate 11000 and I'll be happy to help in case Silverfast will give it a try.
