I'm useing an Howtek drum scanner. At the moment the scanner scans frame per frame, also then two frames next to each other. in this case the scanner have to scan the same range twice. One for each frame.
My idea is, that the scanner scans both images in one session but saves the data in different files. It would be speed up scanning dramatically.

You could do that by drawing a scan frame enclosing both (or all ...) your images and scan in "48Bit HDR" mode to file.
This is a "raw" scan without any gradation or color corrections, you only need to set the scan resolution to your needs (i.e., as usual).
When you have generated the 48Bit HDR file, please use our "SilverFast HDR" software to work on this file and draw your individuel scan frames with individuel gradation and corrections there.
It will appear as if you worked directly with the scanner, but it will be faster all together.
You may download a demo version of SilverFast HDR from this site.

No good solution
Sorry, but this is no solution. When I scan an 6x7cm Image with 4000dpi 24bit the file ist about 300MB, in 48bit the same file is about 600MB.
On my drum there are three images besides. If I scan this image with 48bit I have an file more when 1,8GB because where is an unused space between the images. If I use 24x36mm images the complete filessize will be more than 1GB.
Sorry, but this is not an handy way. Additionally I don't want to buy an additionally software.
