I use SF Ai
most confusing for the user is the SF concept of saving settings. There are several save options in several dialogs and you never can be sure what the saving includes (frame, scaling, resolution, adjustment options and so on).
The Q-factor can be changed in the frame dialog and in the options general dialog

Dear Kul
much of this already is explained in the handbook. But most easily to understand is that you saved things in the dialogue where you set things, e.g.
Using "Save settings" on the frame tab will save the settings for this tab.
Because you can have more than one frame, a set of frames is save on the general tab.
Jobs are saved with the menu option of the JobManager.
Options in general are saved in the options dialogue.
As you can very well want to save the Q-factor generally, but still change it quickly with a frame setting saved for a given individual frame, yes, the Q-factor can be saved on the options dialogue (for general use) and the the "save settings" options of the frame tab.
This doesn't strike me as a specific to SilverFast concept.
A text processor software e.g. allows you to set a standard font a.s.o. as well as define a different standard font for a given template.
