I am using SilverFast SE (8) with an Epson V700. I have exclusively scanned reflective drawings an photos.
In the beginning the scanned images were sharp and nice. However, for a while ago the scanned images have been very soft and I can't realize why this has changed.
I have tried to reset all settings to default values, but nothing seems to help.
A while ago the SilverFast 8 SE was updated to a newer version, but I don't know this happened before or after this issue.
Does anyone have an idea to what the error could be.
Thanks for all help!!

Re: Prescan looks sharp, but scanned image is very soft
Dear customer,
The scanner is a fix focus device. It can only switch between two focus layers.
Make sure you are using the correct transparency mode.
The normal transparency for use with the film holders and the wider area transparency for material directly placed on the glass.
Did you maybe use the USM filter previously. This sharpens the scan software sided.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
