OS X support for PIE 1800u

Postby mtpalms » Wed Sep 11, 2002 9:09 pm

The 1800u scanner is more than adequate for my needs, but it is the last peripheral in the stable that is not X ready. Apple says that in January 2003, users will not be able to use 9 in conjunction with X. I'm sure the hew and cry will cause them to back pedal on the date, but it is inevitable.

Well, its always possible to have a second partition with OS9 and then boot from the partition you need. I know that is not the best way, but it seems to be the only one for me.
Since we are using a SDK from the scanners manufacturer, we cannot garantee that an OSX version for this scanner will be available in the future. Right now, it really doesn?t look like.

Eric.
