Before OS X there was a small utility called SCSIprobe that enabled you to detect a scanner with a SCSI interface that had been turned on WHILE the Mac was running.
Could this function be built into Silverfast for OSX please? Otherwise, we have to leave the scanner turned on the whole time (wasting energy) and its often impossible to reboot the Mac hosting the scanner because its running some long job.
OS X - SCSI - please detect scanner automatically

Dear mike
SCSIprobe is a utility developed by Adaptec that only works under OS 9.
You will find more information in the Adaptec Knowledgebase Answer ID 3364: Why doesn't SCSIProbe work in Mac OS X?
