My suggestion is universal to all copy mfgs. but

.... I am interested only in my nice new Epson V700 Photo ....

.... By this I mean that possibly LaserSoft needs to look to all copier companies and also that my prior experience with Pro was based on my MicroTek copier. Meaning that maybe LaserSoft Pro has multi-slide scan ability that isn't adequately advertised.

I think Epson (at least as related to the V700) has been brilliant in its 'Epson Full Auto Mode - and quite frankly LaserSoft Imaging maybe has 'blown it' in their Ai series. Why?

I have a couple of thousand 35mm slides that I would like to copy.

Epson provides their 12 slide holder with an auto recognition per each slide ability. By this I mean that Epson 'Auto' will process each slide (possibly not too sure yet) with an auto exposure ability per slide but is critically limited by an 1800ppi maximum limit and limited ICE.

This means that I can start a slide copy action and do not have to 'sit' in front of my computer as the entire 12 slide series is processed which does take a bit of time - but I am not 'baby-sitting' each slide.

LaserSoft Ai series is very rich in slide copying ability but must be 'baby-sat' per each slide.

I would happily use Epson Full Auto Mode for general slide copying and the revert back to Ai Pro for 'serious' copy but in nearly every 'series of 12' there is a slide that has real print 'potential' and I am stuck with a max of 1800ppi - with none of the very sophisticated LaserSoft processing abilities that I really desire.

I don't think my suggestion is all that too ambitious --- what the 'heck' Epson has figured out how to do it --- but is the ultimate ability/challenge to LaserSoft development staff:

Give me (and every owner of a scanner company - starting with very high quality scanners) the ability to fully use all the very special abilities of Ai in a batch slide mode.

Dear Customer,
with the latest versions of SilverFast we have implemented recognition of the Slide and Film Holder in SilverFast, you can find this option in the Find Frames feature. You also have the possibility to copy one frame setting to all of the frames. I hope this is what you have been looking for.
