It would be nice to be able to select different color profiles when scanning. I scan both Ektachrome and Kodachrome slides. I have a different IT8 calibration slides and profiles for each. It would be nice to be able to select one or the other, rather than go through the calibration process before scanning.

No problem!

First: Go to the "Option"-dialog / "CMS" panel / "Colour Management" / "Profile for ColorSync" and switch from "Calibration" to "ColorSync" (on Macintosh, or "ICM" on Windows).
Second: Select the prefered profile under "Profiles for ColorSync" / "Scanner transparancy".

Thanks for your quick reply.

I don't quite understand. I am on a PC. When I go into the CMS menu, the choices I see for Scanner -> Internal is <none>, Image Color Matching (ICM), and Calibration. When I select ICM, it makes the Scanner (Transparency) white, but I only have the choice on <None>. It does not allow me to modify it by way of typing. What am I doing wrong?

Your first reply sounded interesting. How do I get a reply to my question to your reply?

George,

You must create a profile using both target IT8 slides and save them. To use your own profiles it is necessary to set Scanner Internal to Image Colour Matching (ICM). When you wish to scan Kodachromes you wil then need to pick the Kodachrome profile in the Scanner (Transparent or Reflective) profile popup (Profiles for ICM section) and likewise for your other film profile.

See example 5 and red text in screenshot for how you should end up (since you use PC read ICM in lieu if ColorSync)
