I'm using Silverfast with a Kodak RFS-3600, which allows manual focus settings. The current preview implementation has only two preview images, a before and an after image. When trying to manually determine the point of sharpest focus, you have to repeatedly move the slider a notch and obtain a new prescan for comparison. It is difficult to do a comparison to the previous prescan because only the original "before" image shows. I'd like to be able to select a range of possible focus settings, have Silverfast do prescans at each increment within that range, and be able to view all the prescans at once in the focus preview dialog then pick the sharpest one to use as the focus setting for my final scan.

More efficient Focus for Kodak RFS 3600

We will be recommending a more efficient way to the manufacturer to find the best possible focus in an automatic or semi-automatic fashion.

That sounds great! Thanks.

But, still, manual control of focus is sometimes best. Having a galley of samples obtained within a range of focus settings, and being able to pick the sharpest sample would be a really nice feature in the manual focus dialog.
