LS8000 and FH869M
Moderator: LSI_Moeller
I recently purchased Nikon's mounted slide adapter (FH869M) for the LS8000. I have now confirmed with Silverfast that use of this adapter is not supported by the latest version of Ai. Their reply was that the medium format mounted slide adapter is optional. However, Nikon's scanning software does support the use of this adapter. It seems to me that a $500 piece of software that makes claims to be for the "professional" should not hide behind the excuse that the adapter is an optional piece of equipment. Tech support suggested I make this post to see how many others may be using this adapter. I will assume that anyone who purchases the LS8000 does so for its medium format capabilities, given that it really doesn't offer advantages over the LS4000 for 35mm. So, it seems unacceptable to me that Silverfast should create a piece of software that doesn't fully support the medium format film adapters; optional or not. This fact is not disclosed before you plunk down your $500 for Ai.

Nikon LS 8000 and mounted slide adapter
I was not aware of this fact that there is a slide adapter that Nikon scan is supporting but we are not!
You can be sure that I will have my development support this adapter as soon as possible!
Thank you for your comment!
