IT8 Troubleshooting Aid

A couple of us have had problems with IT8 calibration that couldn't be duplicated by others. My Microtek ScanWizard software allows me to display dots over the image of of the IT8 slide showing where the software is taking its readings. That might help in determining why the calibration attempts are rejected because the alignment box supposedly wasn't adjusted correctly. It would also help determine if a piece of dust or dirt on the slide (a big problem with two of my SilverFast furnished slides) might interfer with getting a good reading at a given point on the slide.

That is a very good idea! I will discuss that with our developers. Differentiated error messages and highlighted spots will surely help to pinpoint problems more easily.
