Howtek 4500 - to be supported in future ?

We recently acquired a Howtek 4500 drum scanner. Before spending $1500 for the software, a question: Will any of the current versions of Ai support the scanner on Mac OSX?

If not, are there any plans to support this scanner on OSX in the future?

If not it may make more sense to get a windows version, because we are converting our fleet of macs to X.

The MAC OSX version of our Howtek plugin is currently untestet and the decision whether OSX will be supported or not is not made yet. If you purchase SilverFast, you will get the right to use both MAC and PC versions. So...if you are moving to PC...no problem.
