Hello!
I would like the possibility to save even the reflective scans with the infrared channel to remove dust and scratches at a later time (as I can now do with transparent scans).
Or am I missing something and this is already possible to do (am I doing something wrong)?
Kind regards
Niklas

Dear Niklas,
the infra-red channel is only working in transparency mode it would not make any sense in reflective mode.

Re: HDRi 64bit color on reflective scanning
If the infra-red light doesn't operate on reflective material, what is the best way to do dust + scratch removal on prints (relfective material)?
Currently I was scanning in 48-bit HDR and then bringing the images into HDR Studio and using iSRD in there, which seemed to detect all the dust and scratches. But tonight I just realised that it wasn't using the infra-red channel at all.
1) How does iSRD do the detection without infra-red?
2) Should I use Digital ICE on my V700 instead of iSRD?

When scanning in 48Bit HDR mode the Infrared Channel is not saved therefore you would have to make a 64Bit HDRi Scan, I think you mistook iSRD with SRD our Software based dust and scratch removal.

It does not, without the data of the infrared channel iSRD is not possible

For reflective material I would refrain from using ICE as by my experience it has little to none effect removing the dust and can even diminish the acutal quality. Also it can not be saved in unprocessed form thats why we invented HDRi.
What I would recommend is that you use SRD for your reflectives
