For Mac OS X 4 Tiger, please.
Please begin to prepare Silverfast AI for the coming Mac OS X 4. When so many imagemasters use Macs, it should be a priority. We want to upgrade the OS but Silverfast holds us back.
Dear mjf777
thank you for your interest in LaserSoft Imaging's software.
Of course we will support OS X 10.4, aka Tiger, with our SilverFast product range. Preparations have already been taken, so there will be nothing to hold you back.
However, some steps can only be done when Tiger is finally released.
Users shall know with SilverFast's versions will be "ready for Tiger" then as it will be advertised on our website for each individual product.
Have an inspiring and relaxing weekend

For the UMAX Astra scanner. On the product page/supported scanner index it says "In preparation".
EDIT: UMAX Astra 6700

OK, I see.
For some of the UMAX Astra scanners we are doing the communication with the scanner via a low level library from the vendor. One of the calls to that library is crashing when SilverFast starts up. We are in contact with UMAX, as they have to fix their low level library.
Until now we didn't get a fix, but it's not our fault, we can only wait...
I do understand that this is frustrating for you, but that's the situation.
Best regards
Ralf

Same here for Mac OS X Tiger (10.4) and an Umax Astra 4500 Scanner.

Dear HeckMeck
nothing new so far, I am afraid. I did asked product management to contact Umax on this topic again, though.
If status changes, you shall find an appropriate comment here. Also the entries for the Umax Astra 4500, 4700, and 6700 will change accordingly.
Best regards

Dear Umax Astra users
unfortunately it now is official: There won't be any drivers for the Umax Astra 4500/4700/6700 series to run these scanners under Tiger (Mac OSX 10.4) developed by Microtek.
In consequence, LaserSoft Imaging unfortunately cannot create appropriate versions of SilverFast, too.
