file names

Would it be possible when entering the file name of a new scan to make use of the features provided by Mac OS 10 finder, i.e. the possibility to click on the name of an existing file and to slightly modify it?

Dear Frank,

thank you for this suggestion. I gave it to our developers.

Best regards

I'm now using SilverFast SE Plus with a Plustek OpticFilm scanner I recently bought, and I do find the way it handles files and directory names a bit counter-intutitive.

Specifically,

  • I have to remember to put in each new filename before I do the final scan for each photo - I'd find it easier if it would prompt me for a new filename each time I press Scan;
  • whenever I reset the scan frame, it resets the image directory to My Pictures, and it doesn't seem possible to change this default setting;
  • I have used one of the Windows tools to relocate my 'My documents' folder away from the standard location (under C:\Documents and settings\username) but the above defaulting doesn't seem able to take account of this.

For reference, I am running Windows XP Home SP3.

Dear Adrian,

thank you very much for the hint.
It is possible to define a standard folder for saving, but that is a feature of SilverFast Ai Studio 8.
