Good evening,
slides vary in their density. Some scanners offer the possibility to adjust the exposure level via the analog gain, like my DD6000. Why not offer the option to make a low resolution scan with the lowest exposure time available, then locate the brightest spots in the image and adjust the exposure time for the actual scan accordingly, so the brightest parts are just short of saturation? This would ensure an optimum dynamic range for the scan. At the moment I have to do this by hand for each batch of slides.

Re: Exposure meter ?
Dear Mr Röser,
Unfortunately this would disable the IT8 calibration process which requires a stable light source.
Therefor this unfortunately is not possible.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
