CCD Flare reduction tool

Postby jcbx » Sat Dec 23, 2006 4:56 am

I can predict pretty well when and where my Nikon 5000 ED will produce CCD flare in the image. If I can predict it, surely it would be possible to create a tool to analyze the image for high contrast edges between light and dark areas and provide a flare reduction capability for specific scanners and film bases. That would really make Silverfast + Nikon scanner an unbeatable combination.

I agree - this seems to me a highly desirable feature.

Hi,
the camera raw plugin of Photoshop CS2 has a comparable and very effective versatile option to reduce colour fringing.

I also would appreciate a comparable tool to reduce colour fringing observed in the direction of scanning at heavy steps in density.
This is a annoying problem with the Microtek 120tf.

The Photoshop CS3 Camera RAW as a recovery slider that deals with this problem very nicely, so it must be possible to implement, right?
