Dear issa
firstly, please refrain from cross-posting, thanks
The norm for IT8 calibration does describe scanner calibration for reflective and transparent positive material. There is no IT8 calibration for negatives.
SilverFast does offer Negafix (https://www.silverfast.com/show/negafix/en.html) for optimal results when scanning negatives.
Please feel free to download a demo version (from our website at: Download -> SilverFast demo.
This way you can easily assure yourself that your personal systems configuration does work before buying anything.
Thus you are able to explore all the features of SilverFast and check if it suits your needs.
To scan a target for calibration with other calibration software, not SilverFast itself, the most easiest way is to:
(1) Set the gamma value and check the box saying that this gamma shall be used for HDR output, too: > Options > General > Gamma, for HDR output:
(2) Choose HDR scan mode for scanning the target:
If you want to make use of SilverFast's own IT8 calibration feature, but don't need to buy additional target(s) (which generally comes with the IT8 calibration purchased), please contact our sales staff for an offer:
