Minolta has released a new scanner in the Dimage Scan line. Can we expect silverfast to support this scanner in the futher? How is the support for the Dimage Scan III? Last messages are from december, is there any news about how much more development time is needed. Or does minolta frustrate the process by being no supportive?
Minolta should realise that Silverfast support is important for many people who decide to buy a filmscanner.

Re: Support for Minolta Dimage Scan IV
Dear rwelch,
unluckily in the Minolta case we had to work with their drivers and they did not bother to update them to Snow Leopard...
So the only chance would be to directly drive the scanner and to completely rewrite the Minolta code in SilverFast.
We are hearing you but we need to get the idea that this effort is worth the work we would have to invest so we take notice of the problem and if there are enough possible sales we will do so.
Right now it doesn't look as if we will undertake this risk, lets see if there is more demand for it, Snow Leopard is still young and there are quite some Minoltas out there...
Sorry if that sounds like bad news, only trying to be honest and helpful !
best regards,
Nils Heidorn

Re: Support for Minolta Dimage Scan IV
Unfortunately the expenses necessary to create a working are not justified yet.
There are too few people requesting this scanner to invest the large amount of time necessary.
kind regards
Arne Ketelhohn

Re: Support for Minolta Dimage Scan IV
Hi, I'd like to add my vote for Scan Dual IV support please. I think this is an underrated scanner and I don't think I am alone in this opinion - there are are three for sale on eBay at the moment and they are selling for over EUR300. This is amazing for such an old piece of kit.
I have got my Scan Dual working under my Windows 7 64bit operating system and I can use the original Minolta software ok but I would much prefer to use just one application, Silverfast.
Any chance of support? I understand the economics, and I appreciate your candor in the earlier post, but here is one customer who would love to see the scanner supported by yourselves under the current Windows.
Thank you.
