scan failures

Postby Quinine » Mon Oct 27, 2003 12:28 pm

i'm a bit disappointed with the release of silverfast for the minolta scan elite 5400. i get the following problems on a regular basis: it seems that during a film scan silverfast get's communication error with the scanner which it doesn't recognize. sf then fills the rest of the image with the last good scan line. this results in 1/3 of the image been scanned ok and the next 2/3 a rather interesting graphic creation... :-( the original minolta software and v**s**n don't have these failures, so i have to stick with these for now.

hope you get this fixed asap.

best regards, --- jan.

Please tell us wich versions do you use under wich OS system.

I used this scanner here under XP and OSX.10.2.8

Everythink work fine with the latest version R5/R6. Please delete all the old stuff and drivers and reinstall only the SilverFast software.

Feel free to ask me again

As I see here, I did send you an email back. here is the text :

Sehr geehrter Herr Kriesten,

vielen Dank f?r Ihr Interesse an unserer Software SilverFast.

Kristian Kratzenstein

hi,

you got another email, but there still isn't any response from your side (not even that you're working on the problem). that's a bit frustrating, since i paid for the software and can't use it. :-(

regards, --- jan.

Just a few hints (not sure if you already did this)

- Make sure you have the latest release of SilverFast for this scanner. We have free downloads availabel in our downloads/update section
- SilverFast was only tested with the latest Minolta drivers. So please check their website for any driver updates as well.
