Multi-sample for Minolta Dual Scan III SE

Postby dpic » Thu Dec 23, 2004 7:31 am

I just downloaded the Xp demo for the Minolta Dual Scan III. I've been waiting for support of this scanner for a long time.

Now, I can't find the setting to adjust the multi-sample option. How do you adjust the multi-sample option for the SE version? I normally scan at 4x and sometimes at 8x. I can't find this option anywhere.

Thank-you.

I don't believe the SE version allows Multi-Sampling at least I have not been able to find it.

Thanks Chris. I've been afraid about that. It would absolutely unbelievable if multi-sampling was unsupported in the SE version. Multi-sampling is a basic function of this scanner and one of the reasons I bought it.

I've tested the black noise in Silverfast SE demo scans against the Minolta scanning program. There is obvious noise in the Minolta SE scans. Why bother writing software for a scanner and not support all of its basic functions? I only would consider buying after-market software to increase my scanning capabilities not lessen it.

Under no circumstances would I purchase Silverfast SE if multi-sampling is not supported. Multi-sampling is a basic function and should be supported with SE. No way should it be a luxury feature only available in the Ai version.

If you post the question to the programers maybe this is something they can add to the software. I rarely use MS but if it was there I might try it.
