Mirror Image

Postby XIII » Tue Jun 15, 2004 11:03 pm

I am new to this software and have what might be a silly question.

When I scan my slides on the DSE5400 following Minolta's instructions for loading into the scanner, I get a mirror image in Silverfast Ai.

Is this normal, or do I need to ignore Minolta's instructions for loading. Also, when following Minolta's instructions the IT8 Target is not orientated correctly.

I am using the latest version (r5) which I downloaded today.

Thanks Steve

I think I have found the answer. A mirror imaging adjustment is in the densitometer.

Dear XIII.

You can also use the flip icons on the left side of the preview.
The difference is:

The densitometer flips the current frame only; the flipping is applied at scan time. The icon on the preview, flips the the preview window AND the current frame. This might be useful for images that contain objects like letters. If only one frame is opened on the preview or if all frames on the preview have to be flipped/rotated in the same way, the flip/rotate icons on the preview are preferable. Also note the the preview is rotated, when the rotation icon is clicked.

Best regards
