Minolta scan elite 5400 & Silverfast SE

I've got a scan elite 5400, and I've downloaded the demo version of SF SE. The results on negative scanning is good, but I have to say that it is not easy to distinguish the differences between difffernt Lasersoft's product.

I want to make certain 2 things before I place an order:

1. SF SE cannot output 48bit color TIFF. The only way is to purchase SF Ai or SF HDR in addition to SF SE.

2. Scan Elite 5400 can do multi-sampling. SF SE cannot make use of this adavantage. SF Ai cannot neither.

Would someone here can help me?
